Holiday Photoshoot Sets
Title:
Caroline Tran 2021 Holiday Photoshoot Sets
Brief/Context:
This was a free-lance project for wedding and family photographer, Caroline Tran. I was hired to design and build two sets for her up-coming holiday photoshoots. Her goal was to have two sets, one that had a lighter theme that would work well with families with young children and one that had darker more elegant theme. The first theme is centered around a present mountain. This set was designed to play with scale and allow for those in the photos to have many areas where they can interact with the props. The second theme is designed to resemble a modern living room. For this project I designed and creating renderings, as well as built the set.
Tools:
Illustrator, Vectorworks, Twinmotion, Woodworking Tools
Process:
I started this project with a few meetings with Caroline to figure out her design style and brainstorm ideas. From there, I created sketches and a mood board to convey my different ideas. Once we settled on two ideas, I created renderings in Vectorworks and Twinmotion so that her clients have an idea of what the set will look like. Next, I gathered materials and started building out the first set. The build process included repurposing old wooden boxes, constructing new boxes, painting all props, and creating lighter materials out of foam core. After constructing the set, I did set up and strike on the weekend of the photoshoot.
